Introduction
What is Dream Jiu Jitsu
We host six kids gi tournaments per year, each with a fun theme incorporated throughout the tournament.
In the first five tournaments of the year, kids will compete for lettered medals that spell D-R-E-A-M when they earn all five. Our sixth event of the year is where we go all out on the theme including decorations, costumes, props, and more.
Every registration includes one free spectator plus a themed t-shirt, poster, and giveaway.

Tournament announcements
Tournament capacity
Our maximum capacity ranges between 800-900 competitors depending on the venue. We always recommend signing up early on the same day that registrations open.
All of our events for the last seven years have sold out - some as fast as 11 hours within opening registration.
Sold out
If a tournament is sold out, there is still a chance to sign up if someone drops out!
Keep an eye on the competitor list. If the number of competitors drops below the maximum capacity listed on the event page, that means a spot has opened up. This option to register is available until the event’s registration close date.
We've noticed that competitors will drop out right before or on the registration correction deadline, and we are usually able to get many more kids in!
Registration
Registration platform
All event information will be on our website, and all of our events are hosted on the Smoothcomp platform. The link to register through Smoothcomp will be on each event page on our website.
Create a Smoothcomp account
To make registration as simple as possible, it will be best to already have a Smoothcomp profile created.
Registration corrections
Please weigh your child (without the gi) and review all of your child’s information on their registration to make sure it is up to date.
If anything needs to be changed, registration corrections can be done by logging into your Smoothcomp account and editing your registration there before the registration correction deadline, or by emailing us at dreambjj@gmail.com with your child’s full name and the correction.
Belt changes
If you change your child's belt in their profile, this does not automatically update their registration. You still need to update their registration with their new belt.
Cancellations
We do not provide refunds. If we are notified on or before the event’s registration correction deadline, we will provide a credit for the original amount paid that can be used for any future Dream tournament, on any competitor, and does not expire.
You can log into your Smoothcomp account and cancel your registration there or email us at dreambjj@gmail.com with your child’s full name that you’d like to cancel.
If you signed up for the tournament using a credit, we recommend you email us to cancel so that we can issue you a new credit.
Once competitors are removed from an event, there are no guarantees that they can be added back in if the event is sold out.
If you know you need to cancel, please do so as soon as possible so that it opens up a spot for someone else to register.
Credits
Credits do not automatically roll over. You will need to use your credit to register your child in the next Dream tournament you’d like to sign up for.
Credits are issued as coupon codes. To use a coupon code:
Log into Smoothcomp.
Click your name at the top of the screen (on the navbar).
Click "My account." Your coupons will be listed to the left of the screen.
Copy the coupon code.
Register like normal until you see a button that says “Add coupon code.”
Click the Grey “Add coupon code” and paste the code there.
Click the Grey “Add” button.
Click the Green “Continue to payment” button and proceed with registration.
If we emailed you a coupon code, then you can start at Step 4.
Emails to expect once you’ve registered
A correction deadline reminder will be emailed the week before the competition, so that parents can double check their child’s exact weight and registration information to make sure all is correct before we begin working on brackets.
The detailed schedule will be published on the event page and emailed by or before the end of the night on the Monday before the competition. Before then, you may check the pre-schedule to see the order that divisions will compete in.
Final event information will be emailed no later than the end of the night on the Tuesday before the competition including links to the brackets, a venue map, upcoming Dream tournaments, and more.
Adding dreambjj@gmail.com to your contacts may help prevent our emails from going to spam.
